Obituary of Kevin P Farrell

LITTLE FALLS - Mr. Kevin P. Farrell, age 63, of Cramer Road, Little Falls (Town of Danube) died on Friday evening, January 17, 2014 at his home after a short but tough fight with cancer. He was surrounded with an abundant amount of love offered by family and close friends. He was born on September 30, 1950 in Winchester, Massachusets. Kevin moved to New York in the mid - seventies and worked as a machine mechanic for Redco (Salada Tea) in Little Falls until 2007. While there, he was active in his local Union and held many positions including the Union President. When he left Redco in the mid - 2000's; in fact right up until his passing; he worked at Feldmeier Equipment, Inc. in Little Falls as a welder. He took great pride in his ability to work at a high level of production and was admired by many co - workers and friends for his performance. When he was not hard at work, Kevin so much loved the outdoors. He had a passion for hunting and being outside with friends. Kevin was also an avid reader and resident expert on many aspects of American history. He had a great passion for learning and teaching about the American Revolution, the American Civil War, and how it shaped his beloved Mohawk Valley. Kevin was a member of the Kettle Beaver Club in Salisbury, a beautiful place of which he considered a "second home". Kevin is survived by his siblings: brother: John J. Farrell, a sister: Grace Marie (Farrell) Balestrieri; brothers: Francis E. Farrell and Michael J. Farrell; along with many nieces and nephews. Kevin was predeceased by his parents, John Joseph and Julia Marie (Connor) Farrell.
