Obituary of Brayton J Rickard

NEWPORT - Brayton J. Rickard, age 19, of Newport, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, January 28, 2014, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on August 19, 1994, in New Hartford, NY, a son of Dorothy E. (DiFillippo) Bostwick and John N. Rickard, Jr. Bray attended West Canada Valley Schools. He loved to camp, hunt and fish and was an accomplished snow-boarder. He will be dearly missed by his family including his mother, Dorothy Bostwick and her husband, David, of Middleville; his father, John N. Rickard, Jr. and his wife, Cathy, of Cold Brook; his siblings, Olivea Conklin, Dalton Conklin, James Rickard, and John E. Rickard; two step-brothers, Wayne Huckabone, Jr., and Daniel Huckabone; Grandparents, Donald and Bernadette DiFillippo, of Norway. He was predeceased by grandparents, John N. Rickard, Sr. in July, 2003 and Joan Tobin in October of 2013. He is also survived by a special cousin who was raised as a sister to Bray, Ashley DiFillippo; along with many aunts uncles and cousins. Brayton was very close with his cousins Isabella Sherwood, Austin Dykeman, Amber DiFillippo, Allyssa DiFillippo, Alex DiFillippo, and "Little" Donnie DiFillippo. Brayton is an uncle to Shawna Rickard and Zachary Rickard. Calling hours at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, Little Falls, will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 2 until 5 PM. His funeral will be held Saturday evening at 5PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, officiating. Spring interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Hurricane Road, Gray NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Harry & Kevin Enea, Funeral Directors.
