lion: Helene (Uertz), 96, a lifelong Ilion resident, passed away on February 7,2014 in Utica. For the last two years, she resided at Clare Bridge in Clinton. Helene was born in Ilion on August 1, 1918, a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Harter) Uertz and sister of Lawrence Stanley Uertz. She was a Registered Nurse and worked at Remington Arms, Ilion, and Chicago Pneumatic, Utica. She is survived by her son, David Lee of California; a nephew, Lawrence Uertz of Georgia; three grandchildren, Rachel, Kelsey, and Caitlin of California; along with several nieces and nephews. Helene's Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Reverend Paul Catena in Church of the Annunciation, West Main Street, Ilion at 1:30 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2014. She will be buried in the spring in St. Agnes Cemetery, Ilion at a time to be announced. Harry J. and Kevin E.
