ILION - Claudia J. Stedman, age 63, of Ilion, NY, a long time resident of Rome, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2014 in Faxton - St. Luke's Healthcare in the Town of New Hartford, NY. Her passing occurred peacefully with her loving daughter Phaedra and family at her side. Claudia was born on October 14, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA. Before moving to Ilion, she lived for many years in Rome, NY. She was employed as a supervisor for Catholic Charities of Utica. She loved genealogy and was a member of the Genealogy Society. She enjoyed volunteering, especially at the Rome Art & Community Center. She also made Rosary Beads for soldiers and their families. Her hobbies were bocce, knitting, and crocheting. She leaves behind her father, Claude Stedman; her mother, Sis Stedman; a daughter, Phaedra Toth-Albrecht and her husband Michael of Ilion; a son, Demian Toth of Arizona, five grandchildren, Aidan, Audra, Aleah, Aylah, and Jenna; one brother and four sisters; along with several nieces and nephews. Claudia's family will plan a service for her at a later date. Arrangements are in the caring guidance of Harry J. and Kevin E.
