Obituary of Robert D Vespi
LITTLE FALLS - Robert D. Vespi, age 65, passed away with his loving wife and family by his side Sunday March 16th, 2014 in Oceanside, CA (complications from pneumonia).
He was born March 28, 1948 in Little Falls, NY. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Bob served from 1966-1970. He was a member of the American Legion in St Johnsville. He graduated from SUNY Institute of Technology at Utica/Rome with a bachelor's degree in business management. Bob worked at the United States Postal Service for over 30 years, retiring as the Postmaster of Frankfort, NY. In August, 1992 Bob was united in marriage to the former Peggy Pellerito-Tumski at Holy Family Parish in Little Falls, NY. Bob was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. He loved the NY Yankees and NY Giants. He loved to travel with his wife, especially to Florida and San Diego each year. Bob was a Cantor at Holy Family Parish of Little Falls, NY.
Bob is survived by his wife Peggy of Little Falls, NY, his brothers Dan (wife Cyndi) and Joe (wife Dale) and his sister Rosalind Colburn (husband the late Dave Colburn). His sons Robert Jr. (wife Tina) of Boynton Beach, FL, and Michael (wife JoMarie) of Jamesville, NY, his daughter Desiree Thomas (husband Rob) of Kirkville,NY, step daughter Diana(Dee Dee) Visconti (husband Tony), step daughter Lisa Rovetto (husband Ed), his grandchildren Brooke Gallagher, Liam Thomas, Caleb, Nick, Adam and Ben Vespi, Jenna and Ryan Vespi, Anna, Samantha, and Alexa Rovetto, Vinny and Nicky Visconti, great grandson Caeden, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Cataldo (Dan) and Irene Vespi.
Bob's funeral will be held on Saturday March 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Parish, corner of East Main & John Streets where the funeral mass will be celebrated by Rev. Terence Healy. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family at St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls on Friday March 21st from 5 until 8 PM. Members of the St. Johnsville American Legion will gather 6:30 PM Friday at the funeral home.
