Obituary of Bonnie J King

MILLERS MILLS - Bonnie J. (Young) King, age 78, of Depot Rd., Millers Mills, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Siegenthaler Center, New Hartford, with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 25, 1935, in Millers Mills, the daughter of Edward and Ella (Eckert) Young, and graduated from West Winfield High School. On May 12, 1956, she was married to Frederic "Fred" J. King at the Community Baptist Church of Millers Mills. He died on October 23, 1998. She was the owner and operator of Bonnie's Arts & Crafts in Herkimer for twenty-five years. At one time, she was employed at Chicago Pneumatic Co., Utica. Bonnie was a member and Deacon of the Community Baptist Church of Millers Mills and treasurer of its Ladies Aid. She was a long time member and past officer of the Millers Mills Grange and a former Den Mother of Cub Scout Pack 15 of Cedarville. She also taught chair caning (seating) at Herkimer BOCES. Bonnie was a charter member of Highland Airport Flying Club. She had a passion for quilting, crafting and painting. Bonnie enjoyed building stone walls and traveling. Surviving family members cherishing her memory are her daughters, Susan Pace and her husband, Chuck, of Cedarville, and Mary Ann King, of Millers Mills; her sons, Gary King, Steven King and his wife, Pamela, all of Millers Mills; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; seven sisters and six brothers-in-law, Betty and Albert Herringshaw, of Richfield Springs, Barbara Miller, of Middleville, Joanne and John Putney, of Fairfield, Donna and Bob Frazier, of Washington, Kay and Don Davenport, of Oregon, Fay and Nazer Shook, of Texas, and Peggy and Bob Wheelock, of Cedarville; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jack Young, of Cedarville, Jimmy Young, of Ilion, Dick and Peggy Young, of Cedar Lake, and Dan and Viyada Young, of Cedarville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Fred; her sisters, Nancy and Norma; and her brother, Edward. Bonnie's Memorial Service will be held 12 noon, Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Community Baptist Church of Millers Mills with Pastor C. Edmund Woodworth, Jr., officiating. Spring burial will be in Millers Mills Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday, April 4, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion (old Main Street, between Ilion and Frankfort).
