Obituary of Michael J. Linney

ST. JOHNSVILLE - Michael Joseph Linney went to be with the Lord on April 3, 2014. He was 58. Michael was born in Little Falls, NY on October 23, 1955 to Robert H. Linney and Lillian Marie Keba Linney. Michael grew up in St. Johnsville, NY and attended St. Johnsville Central School graduating in 1973. He attended Herkimer County Community College majoring in Accounting. He served his country in the military in the United States Army. He also worked for the United States Postal Service for several years and retired from there. Michael enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends over the years. He always had a story to tell that always made you laugh and he was eager to share many stories of his many adventures with family and friends. Michael was a loving father and grandfather to his son Jack, and daughters Ashley and Krista and new grandson Willie Joseph. Along with his children he is survived by his brother Robert J. Linney and his wife Ileen Linney of St. Johnsville, sister Elaine Linney also of St. Johnsville, sister Pamela Gauthier and husband Jeffrey Gauthier of Mohawk. He also leaves behind his loving Aunts Anna May Linney of Mohawk, NY and Irene Keba Mesmer of Gastonia, NC, and his Uncle William Keba and wife Joan Keba of Ft. Plain, NY. He also leaves behind his nephews Eric Bayes and wife Megan Bayes of Maynard, MA and Great Nephews Aiden and Parker Bayes of Maynard, MA, Greg Gage of Caroga Lake, NY, Robert Linney Jr. of St. Johnsville, and Andrew Gauthier of Herkimer, NY; Nieces Caitlin Gauthier of Herkimer, NY and Kayla Linney of Sprout Brook, NY. He will also be missed by his good and faithful friend Brandon Brown of Monroe, NC. He also shared his life and love with several cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Lillian and his grandson Ames. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Chapel in Monroe, NC. A memorial wake will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Enea Family Funeral Home at 9 Center Street in St. Johnsville from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM with a procession to the Fort Plain cemetery for a military graveside service. In lieu of flowers the family is taking donations to be given to Michael's church in North Carolina. The family is being served by The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street, St. Johnsville, NY.
