Obituary of Lloyd N Van Nort

ILION-SCHUYLER - Lloyd N. Van Nort, age 87, of Prindle Apts., 80 E. North St., Ilion, formerly of Schuyler and Kirkville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Mohawk Valley Health Care Center, Ilion, with his loving wife by his side holding his hand . He was born on February 22, 1927, in Miami, Florida, the son of Leslie and Viola (Logie) Van Nort, and attended Frankfort-Schuyler Schools. On March 11, 1978, he was married to Pauline (Byard) Seamon in Herkimer. Lloyd was employed in the packing dept. of MDS, Herkimer and later as a driver for Purolater Co., Syracuse for thirteen years retiring in 1983. He was a former member of the Syracuse Moose Lodge. Surviving family members cherishing Lloyd's memory are his wife, Pauline; two step-sons, Donald Seamon and his wife, Prudence, of Lockport, and Garry Seamon, of Syracuse; two grandchildren, Harmony Woreal and her husband, Joseph, and Matthew Seamon; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Tyler Woreal; his sister, Jane Johnson, of Herkimer; several nieces, including special nieces, Debra Van Nort and Leslie Van Nort; several nephews, including a special nephew, Keith Van Nort and his wife, Anna; and several cousins. He was predeceased by his sisters, Kathleen Bulkley and Florence Staffo; his twin brother, G. Calvin Van Nort; and also his grandson, Zachary Seamon. There will be a private Funeral Service held at the convenience of the family at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home's newly reopened location at 102 West St., Ilion, with Rev. Robert Wollaber, Pastor of the Morning Star United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be held at Burlington Flats Cemetery. There are no scheduled calling hours.
