Obituary of Louise Franchi

HERKIMER: Mrs. Louise Franchi, 95, a lifelong Herkimer resident, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Folts Home, Herkimer. Born in Herkimer, NY on December 18, 1918, Louise was the daughter of the late Cline and Caroline (Clemente) Corelli. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of Herkimer High School. On November 15, 1945, she was united in marriage to Joseph J. Franchi in St. Anthony's Church, Herkimer; a blessed union of 63 years until his passing on March 7, 2009. They were a loving and devoted couple who were committed to each other and the life they shared together, and offered the same commitment to each of their family members. Louise was employed for many years as an underwriter/bookkeeper for the Crocker Insurance Agency, Herkimer. She enjoyed her employment at the Crocker Agency and developed a special relationship over the years with the Crocker family. Always a family oriented individual, Louise was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and showed a special love toward her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed preparing meals for them. She especially enjoyed when her entire family was together and fondly sharing family memories. Louise found comfort and devotion in the Catholic faith and was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph F. Franchi of Brick, NJ, James and Deborah Franchi of Herkimer and David and Crystal Franchi of Schenectady; her beloved grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Heather Franchi, Michelle Franchi and Nicholas, Nathan and Isabella Franchi; a great granddaughter, Olivia Louise Franchi and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sisters, Palma Cirillo and Virginia Morotti and a brother, Victor Corelli. The family would like to thank the 4th floor staff at Folts Home and the 3rd floor staff at Claxton Manor for their care and compassion shown to their mother during her time spent there. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider memorial offerings in Louise's memory to St. Francis de Sales Regional Catholic School, 220 Henry Street, Herkimer, NY 13350. In keeping with Louise's wishes there will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Francis de Sales Church, North Bellinger Street Herkimer, where Louise's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Reverend Mark Cunningham, Pastor. Spring burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer at a time to be announced. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N.
