LITTLE FALLS - Mr. Angelo M. Izzo "Poppy", age 89, of Little Falls (town of Manheim), passed away on Thursday morning April 10, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. He was born on June 8, 1924 in Little Falls, NY a son of the late Dominick and Rose (DiTata) Izzo. He attended Little Falls schools and went on o serve our country in the United States Army. Angelo married Sally L. Helmer in St. Paul's Universalist Church on September 14, 1946. Mrs. Izzo passed away on September 11, 2009. He was self employed in the construction business. He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed walking, bowling and the horse track. He is survived by his children: George and Sue Izzo of Rome, Donald and Debbie Izzo, Bruce and Lorraine Izzo, and Alan and Sharon Izzo all of Dolgeville; and Donna Cammann and special friend Denis Sullivan of Dolgeville; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and a sister Ann Oliver of Little Falls along with nieces nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son: Angelo R. "Archie;" two sisters Yolanda King and Christina Morra and two brothers Ralph and Michael Izzo. His graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday April 12, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, in the family plot. Prayers will be offered by Deacon Joseph DeLorenzo. There are NO calling hours. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Alpine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and the staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital, especially mentioning Stephen.
