ILION - Dorothy Mae "Dottie" Rowland, age 77, of Ilion, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday morning May 2, 2014, in Utica. She had been residing at the Mohawk Valley Health Care Center in Ilion. Dorothy was born September 20,1936, in the town of Warren, the daughter of Mae Miller Osborn and Leon Griffin and her step father Donald Osborn, of Richfield Springs. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother. We will always remember her great smile which she never lost in all her years of battling with her Multiple Sclerosis. She shared many happy years with her ex-husband James "Jimbo" Rowland. She was predeceased by her daughter, Faith Ann Rowland; a grandson, David Talbot; and many siblings. She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Seamon and her fiancé, Tim Warner, and Susan Hurteau and her husband, Charles Hurteau; grandchildren, James Talbot, Todd Coonradt, Shannon Perkett, Tanya James, Tracy Shufelt,and Jessie LaBella; and many great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, May 7th from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home's newly reopened location at 102 West Street, Ilion. Her Funeral Service will be held immediately following visitation with Reverend Robert Wollaber, officiating. Interment will be held at the discretion of the family at a later date at Kinne Cemetery in Litchfield.
