Obituary of Margaret E. Foley

LITTLE FALLS - Miss Margaret E. "Marge" Foley, age 70, a longtime resident of Flint Avenue in Little Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday May 7, 2014 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 13, 1943 in Herkimer, a daughter of the late Matthew and Josephine (Bilinski) Foley. Marge was educated in Little Falls schools and graduated with Little Falls High School, Class of 1961. She was a lifelong area resident. She last worked with the finance department at Little Falls Hospital. Marge was a member of the Holy Family Parish and her faith was a very important part of her life. Marge enjoyed playing sports in her younger years, especially softball and she was known to be an avid fan of the Syracuse Orange, the New York Mets and the New York Giants. She was devoted to her family and is survived by her brother Matthew Foley of Little Falls, brother in law: Joseph Finkst, Sr. of Troy, NY (formerly of Little Falls), her loving nieces and nephews including: Gary Finkst and wife Debbie, Linda Griffin and husband Jack, Donna Finkst, Susan McGraw and husband Tom, and Joseph Finkst, Jr. and wife Susan, and great nieces and nephews: Allison, Eric, Chris, Ryan, Jason, Evan, Olivia, and Jacob. Several cousins also survive as well as special friends: Dena, Shirley, and Judy and her special canine companion Ginger. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Louise Finkst. Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 10, 2014 at 9:00 AM from The Enea Family Funeral Home 24 West Monroe Street Little Falls, where prayer will be offered and at 9:30 AM at the Holy Family Parish Church, corner of East Main & John Streets, Little Falls where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Terence Healy. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on West Monroe Street on Friday May 9th from 5 until 8 PM. Those wishing to remember Marge in a special way are asked to consider a donation in her memory to the Herkimer County Humane Society, P.O. Box 73 Mohawk, NY 13407. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. The family wishes to extend a thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Bassett Medical Center for the care they gave Marge during her time there.
