ILION: Paul Bachorik, Jr. 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. Joseph's Nursing Home, Utica with the love and support of his family by his side. Born in Little Falls on April 3, 1923, Paul was the son of the late Paul and Suzzana (Marton) Bachorik, Sr. He was raised and educated locally and attended Little Falls Schools. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he honorably served his country as a Corporal from 1943-1945 during the Battle of the Bulge. On June 1, 1946, Paul married the former Marjorie May Shute with whom he shared a blessed marriage of 68 years. Paul worked for many years as a machinist for Remington Arms. He was a member of the Ilion-Frankfort VFW and the Ilion Moose Lodge. Among his interest and hobbies he enjoyed bowling, deer hunting, fishing, gardening and cooking. One cherished family tradition was teaching his children to downhill ski and he continued skiing until the age of 70. He spoke 2 languages; Slovak being his 1st and he was proud of that. Caring and humble, he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed.
