LITTLE FALLS - Gertrude C. St. Louis, age 91, of Little Falls, NY passed away on Thursday afternoon June 19, 2014 at the Valley Health Services in Herkimer, NY. She was born on December 25, 1922 in the town of Little Falls, a daughter of the late Cornelius Avery and Amanda Mae (Staring) Casler and was a graduate of Little Falls High School. Gert last worked as an assembler with Mohawk Data Sciences. At one time she had also worked with local grocery stores inclusive to Loblaws and Great American, along with Little Falls Automotive Fibres. She was an over 50 year member of the First United Methodist Church of Herkimer/Little Falls. She was involved with the DAR, was a past secretary of the Oppenheim Senior Citizens, and a member of the town of Little Falls Grange. Gert was a family historian, having kept many important records of family achievements. She loved being with her family which was the focal point of her life. She enjoyed trips with the senior citizens and had a hobby of painting. She was quite simply an even keeled and extraordinarily good natured person. She is survived by her son Rodney E. St. Louis and wife Cynthia of Little Falls; grandchildren: Mary Lynn Bosiak and husband Dorian of Thompson Connecticut, Edward St. Louis and wife Karen of Deerfield, and Jeffrey St. Louis of Little Falls; seven great grandchildren: Matthew, Emma, Keith, Joel, Logan, Evalynn, Connor and Grace; a sister in law; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Cornelius and Irving Casler. Funeral services will be held on Monday June 23, 2014 at 10:00 AM from The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY with the Rev. Janet Gleason, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Herkimer/Little Falls officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Sunday June 22nd from 6 until 8 PM.
