Obituary of Frank N. Netti

HERKIMER - Mr. Frank N. Netti, age 92, a lifelong resident of Herkimer, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon June 23, 2014 at the St. Luke's Home, town of New Hartford, NY. His family was at his side. A lifelong resident of Herkimer, Frank was born on July 31, 1921, son of Nicholas and Mary Catherine (Tinelli) Netti. He was raised in Herkimer and graduated from Herkimer High School. Frank entered the United States Army and served during World War II from 1942 until 1946. He served in North Africa and Italy where he met and married his wife, Allessandra (Vigliotti). They joined in marriage in Caserta, Italy. Upon discharge from the Army he returned home to Herkimer and started a life - long career in sales. He was last employed at Montgomery Ward as Manager of Plumbing and Heating retiring with over 30 years of service. He was a founding and life - long member of the Michael S. Pliseck VFW Post #4915 of Herkimer. He was also a member of the Tony R. George Post. Frank was predeceased by his parents, his wife Allessandra on June 3, 2009, and his son Nicholas Netti. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Carmen, Joseph and Nicholas and a sister Anne Catanzaro. He is survived by his daughter Mary Katherine McDonnell (husband Kenney) and son Frank E. Netti (wife Linda), five grandchildren, John McDonnell (wife Jennifer), Sean McDonnell (wife Daniela), Heather McDonnell, Crystal Barringer (husband Brian) and Paul Netti, and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Mary Losito (husband Vito) and Rita Orcutt (husband Claude), along with nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 26th, 2014 at 8:45 AM from the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, NY where prayer will be offered and at 9:30 AM at the Church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph, South Main Street in Herkimer where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Terence Healy, Pastor. Interment with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. Calling hours at the Enea Family Funeral Home in Herkimer, will be held on Wednesday June 25th from 4 until 7 PM. Members of the Michael S. Pliseck VFW Post #4915 are asked to gather on Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM for services.
