Obituary of Elsie Margaret Looman

Mrs. Elsie Margaret Looman 77 of 32 Elm Street Dolgeville died on Sunday July 20, 2014 at the home of her daughter Lorie, surrounded by her loving family and was greeted in Heaven with her angles at her side. Elsie was born in Little Falls on June 29, 1937 the daughter of the late William and Isabelle (Congdon) Congdon and was educated in Little Falls schools. She was united in marriage to LeRoy J. Looman on September 4, 1954 in the Universalist Church in Dolgeville. Mr. Looman predeceased her on December 1, 1993. Elsie was employed for many years by the former Don's Tavern in Salisbury Center along with working at the Auction House in Newport. However Elsie will be most remembered by her 20 years as a waitress at "Motors Inn" where she was known as "Lucy". She was of the Methodist faith, and a former member of the East Canada Creek Fish & Game Club. Her personal interests were in country music, embroidery and creating wedding cakes. Her devotion to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her upmost concern. Surviving her are daughters Connie (Robert) Pollard of Salisbury, Susan Vesp and her partner Wayne Doxstader of Oppenheim, Lorie Klawonn and her partner Chris Ferguson of Dolgeville, her sisters Madeline Randall of Oppenheim, Joyce Hannahs of Richfield Springs and Margaret Nichols of Little Falls, her grandchildren Julie, Jason, Lisa, Adam and Nicole, several great grandchildren and several Nieces & Nephews. She was predeceased by a son Randy and a daughter Roylene, a grandson Jeremy, a brother Daniel Congdon, her sisters Shirley Lewis and Alice Guy, and her in laws Ruth &August Looman. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon July 23rd, 2014 at 2PM at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Burial will follow in the Dibble-Tuttle Cemetery Salisbury Center. Calling hours are on Wednesday from Noon until 2PM, when the service will begin. Memorials in Elise's name may be sent to Hospice 4277 Middle Settlement Road New Hartford, NY 13413. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
