Obituary of Edith B. Nagle

Little Falls - Mrs. Edith B. Nagle, age 92, a longtime resident of Little Falls, NY, passed away suddenly on Saturday August 2, 2014 at the Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, NY. Her passing occurred following a brief illness. Edith was born on November 17, 1921 in Middleville NY a daughter of the late Protozy and Blanche Roginski. She began her education by attending the Middleville Elementary School and after moving to Little Falls with her family completed her education at Saint Mary's Academy. She was initially a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish and after closing, became a member of the Holy Family Parish. She worked hard throughout her life assisting in the support of her family. Edith married the love of her life, John "Bud" Nagle on May 13, 1950 with the Rev. Father Joseph Batkiewicz officiating in the nuptial mass. Together they raised three children while continuing to work outside the home. It was a blessed union of over 54 years until the passing of Bud on September 17, 2004. She worked for Cherry Burrell in Little Falls, General Electric in Utica, and eventually retired from Remington Arms Inc, Ilion after many years of service. After retiring she traveled extensively throughout the United States and overseas enjoying visiting family, seeing new sights, and attending her husband's Army Air Force World War II reunions. Her travel included the likes of Australia, Germany, Ireland, and many enjoyable destinations throughout the continental United States. All in all it was her ultimate destination that afforded Edith her greatest amount of pleasure; that destination being back to her home on Burwell Street in her beloved community of Little Falls. As an active member of the church, she participated in many social activities promoting fellowship and community action. Edith was preceded in death by her husband Bud, her two brothers - Walter and Steve Roginski (Doris); two sisters - Helen Ingerham and Stella Moyer; and most recently her sister-in-law Mary Nagle. She is survived by three sons, Lt. Col. (ret) John P. Nagle, his wife Cheryl and their four daughters, Katlyn, Elizabeth, Jacklyn and Julia, Thomas Nagle and his wife Sherry and their children LTC Tom Nagle, US Army, his wife Jennifer and their children Alyssa, Tommy, and Zoie and Wendy Kachoogian and her husband Brian and their children Kyle and Juliet, and David Nagle, his wife Kim and their three children, Jennifer, Karen and Patrick. Edith is also survived by two sisters - Ann Lawrence (Peter), and Rosemarie McGinnis (James); one sister-in-law, Kay Roginski; and many wonderful nieces, nephews and their children.
