Obituary of Arline M. Eramo

LITTLE FALLS - Mrs. Arline M. (Goss) Eramo, age 78, of Little Falls, passed away after a short illness on Friday, August 1, 2014, at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center with her loving family by her bedside. Born in North Blenheim, NY, on October 6, 1935, Arline was the daughter of the late Albert H. and Greta May (Wood) Goss. She was raised and educated in Ilion and attended local schools. On February 10, 1958 she was married to John "J.P." Eramo, and the couple shared 55 years together until his passing on July 3, 2013. Arline spent her life as a homemaker and prided herself in caring for her husband and children. She had a wonderful sense of humor, an infectious smile, and could usually be found singing, dancing and laughing as she enjoyed the good things in life. A woman of simple pleasures, Arline's leisure time was spent doing puzzles and word searches, watching the Days of Our Lives soap opera, playing bingo, going for rides in the car, and enjoying her family at cookouts and restaurants. A true animal lover, Arline had a soft spot in her heart for creatures big and small, and lovingly opened her home to them. She was a woman of faith and a member of Fords Bush Bible Church, where she enjoyed singing and attending Sunday services. Arline is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Jackie Gray, of Oneonta, NY, Linda Thompson, of Laurens, NY, Paul Eramo, of Herkimer, Lorie and Steven Vavrik, of Bessemer, AL, and Catherine and Stanley LaFountain, of Herkimer. She also leaves many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; her brother and sister-in-law, Albert "Sonny" and Renate Goss; and her in-laws, Peter and Anne Lynn Eramo. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Arline's funeral service and Celebration of Life at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home's newly reopened location at 102 West Street, Ilion, with Pastor Joe Miller of Fords Bush Bible Church officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family at North Columbia Cemetery, where Arline will be laid to rest beside her husband, Anyone wishing to share a memory of Arline, or add to her online memorial, may visit: www.applegateandday.com The Eramo family has entrusted all service arrangements to their family Funeral Director and friend, Don Applegate, and Funeral Director, Martin Ciaccia.
