Albany, NY - Mrs. Mary Louise (Renzulli) Donato, age 87, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday afternoon August 13, 2014 at the Teresian House in Albany, NY. Her peaceful passing was graced and comforted by the presence of her loving family at her side. Louise was born on May 24, 1927 in Little Falls, NY, a daughter of the late Ralph and Elena "Helen" (Coppola) Renzulli. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School, Class of 1944. Louise married the love of her life, Renato Donato on July 3, 1949. They shared in a blessed union of nearly 26 years until the sudden passing of Mr. Donato on June 12, 1975. Louise was a great woman, of strong convictions, who had style and flair, and was known for her outstanding hospitality. Shortly before her husband's death she became a licensed real estate broker, founding M.L. Donato Realty, and then Donato-Layman Realty in Warsaw, NY, which she operated successfully for many years as one of the largest independently owned real estate firms in the area. Louise was known for her integrity and business acumen. In her earlier years she actively served her community, taking leadership roles in several civic and political organizations. Louise was President of the PTA, the Hospital Guild and the Herkimer Lady Elks and was active with the Republican party. At one time she was employed by the US Veterans Administration, and also served as secretary to the Herkimer County Republican Chairman. A woman of strong character, first and foremost, Louise was a mother, and also was an important role model to her family. Louise is survived by her children: Denise Martin and her husband Robert of Batavia, NY, and Renato Donato, Jr. and wife Patricia Flemma Donato of Guilderland; her grandchildren: Lisa Martin and Justin Martin; her beloved sister Angela Lamanna of Colonie; her brother - in - law Rudolph "Rudy" Donato of Herkimer, and many nieces, nephews and cousins, especially her eldest niece Reina (Donato) Merkelbach. The family wishes to acknowledge the very special devotion of Louise's sister Angela and her niece Reina throughout her life, and particularly during the past few years. The family is also very grateful for the compassionate care provided to Louise by the staff of the Teresian House. Louise was preceded in death by her husband Renato; her son Thomas; two grandchildren: Christopher Michael Martin and Andrea Rene Martin; her brothers Anthony Renzulli (Lillian), Alfred Renzulli, and Frank Renzulli (Camille) and her sister - in - law Mary (Sanita) Donato, and brother-in-law, Michael Lamanna. Her funeral will be held on Monday August 18, 2014 at 10:15 AM from The Enea Family Funeral Home 24 West Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY where prayer will be offered, and at 11:00 AM from the Holy Family Parish Church, corner of East Main & John Streets, Little Falls, where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place. Entombment will follow in the Donato family mausoleum, Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, NY. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Sunday, August 17th from 4 until 7 PM.
