Obituary of Pauline T. DeDomenick

Mrs. Pauline T. DeDomenick 96 a resident of the Brooklyn Household of the Masonic Care Community, Utica, formerly of 9 West Faville Avenue Dolgeville, died Saturday evening September 20th, 2014 at the Masonic Home. She was born in Utica, New York on March 24, 1918 the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (DeLorenzo) Giannico. She received her education at Brandegee School and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. Upon graduating she then entered into hairdressing that she continued until her retirement in 1983. In 1940 she was sent to Toledo, Ohio by her company, to teach hairdressing for a period of months, returning to the former Boston Store where she worked until its closing. She also managed the beauty salon for the government at the Rhodes Military Hospital where the current St. Lukes Hospital now stands. Pauline was united in marriage to John DeDomenick on April 13, 1943 in St. Agnes church in Utica. He predeceased her on April 16, 1972. Upon his return from the service they purchased the Halfway House Restaurant between Dolgeville and Little Falls, along with the Keyser House Restaurant on Main Street in St. Johnsville. When they both retired from there she opened Pauline's Beauty Salon on Main Street in Dolgeville retiring in 1983. She is survived by her sons and their wives Arthur and Mary Ellen DeDomenick of Dolgeville, Frank and Tracy DeDomenick of Myrtle Beach , South Carolina, a Granddaughter Gina Marie and her husband Jeff Munger of Florida, Two great Grandsons Joshua and Zachary Munger, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Patsy and Arthur and a sister Antoinette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday September 24, 2014 at 9:00 Am at St. Joseph's Church Helmer Avenue Dolgeville. Rev. Quy N. Vo, Pastor will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in ST. Mary's Cemetery, East Herkimer. There are No calling hours, however Friends are invited to attend her Mass on Wednesday morning. Memorials may be sent to the Masonic Care Community 2150 Bleecker Street Utica, NY 13501. Her family wishes to Thank the Brooklyn Household for the care and compassion given to Pauline while she was a resident there. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to Brian A. Roberts of the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville.
