LITTLE FALLS - MOHAWK - Mrs. Ann C. Sohns, 84, a longtime Little Falls area resident, passed away on Saturday October 18, 2014 at Valley Health Services in Herkimer with the love and support of her family at her side. Ann was born in Ilion, NY on November 24, 1929, the daughter of the late Peter and Inez (Dyer) Hext. On April 19, 1952 in Frankfort, NY she was united in marriage to William A. "Bill" Sohns. The couple shared 60 years of commitment, love and mutual respect. Bill died on January 1, 2013. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Sohns and wife JoAnne of Mohawk, Dan Sohns and wife Patty of Herkimer, her daughters, Lorrie Serow of Stratford, Karen McGowan of Mohawk; her cherished grandchildren, David Sohns and wife Erin, Matthew Sohns, and Samantha Sohns, Joshua Serow and fiancée Brittany, and Stephen Serow and Heather, Christopher McGowan and wife Ashley, and Jessica and Sam McGowan, and Sarah Sohns and fiancé Dylan; great grandchildren: Camden, Adrianna, Keira, Garrett, Austin, Lily and Jude; a sister: Jean Lytwynec, a brother Donald Hext, sisters - in - law: Lois Kast and Catherine Hext, and brothers - in - law, Roger Harper and Harold Durand. She was predeceased by a son, David Sohns in 1974, a brother Gerald Hext, and sisters Marion Helmer and Norma Harper. The funeral service will be held Thursday October 23rd at 1:00 PM at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, Little Falls. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 11 AM until 1 PM. Interment will take place in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls.
