Obituary of Pearl Marie Hoke

ILION - Pearl Marie (Brewer) Hoke, age 98, formerly of Prindle Apts., Ilion, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2014, at Katherine Luther Residential Health Care & Rehabilitation Center, Clinton, NY, where she had been a resident during the past four years. She was born on June 18, 1916, in the Town of German Flatts, the daughter of Charles and Mae (Patton) Brewer, and attended North Columbia Elementary School. On December 29, 1933, she was married to Charles "Chuck" E. Hoke at St. Augustine's Church, Ilion. He died in 1996. Pearl worked at Griffiss AFB, Rome, during WW II. She later worked at the A & P stores in Utica and Ilion. Mrs. Hoke was a member of the Ilion United Methodist Church and the Prindle Apts. Tenant's Association. Surviving family members include her daughter, Kay Multary, of West Palm Beach, FL; her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Brenda Hoke, of Ft. Wayne, IN; her brother, Russell Brewer, of Middleville; her sister-in-law, Marjorie Brewer, of Herkimer; six grandchildren, Cathleen Randolph and her husband, Robert, of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Sabrina Misiaszek, of Ilion, Stephanie Grenga and her husband, Ron, of Warwick, RI, Polly Tatrault and her husband, Rick, of Parrish, FL, Jackie Larabell, of Vero Beach, FL, and Michael Hoke, of New Hartford, NY; and several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and John "Jack" Brewer; her sisters, Eleanor Brewer, Dorothy Brewer, Ethel "Jean" Dietrich, Ruth Clements and Shirley Danielak; her grandson, John Hoke; her sisters-in-law, Helen Brewer, Mildred Fitzgerald and Virginia Brewer; and brother-in-law, Leo Danielak. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon, Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home's newly reopened location at 102 West St., Ilion, with Rev. Robert Wollaber, Pastor of the Morning Star United Methodist Church of Ilion, officiating. Entombment will be held at Armory Hill Cemetery following the funeral home service. Visiation will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon, prior to the funeral home service at 102 West St., Ilion.
