Obituary of Mary Tumski

LITTLE FALLS - Mrs. Mary Tumski was born on July 12, 1916 in Little Falls, NY, a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Riznyk) Rusin and attended St. Mary's Academy. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School, Class of 1935. She had been a lifelong resident of Little Falls. Her marriage to Joseph Tumski took place at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Little Falls. The couple had spent many dedicated years with the church and the Ukrainian hall. Mr. Tumski died December 2, 1972. She last worked as a circuit board assembler with Mohawk Data Sciences formerly of Herkimer. At one time she worked with Salada Foods, Montgomery Ward and the Melrose Slipper Company. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish. She was also a member of the Green Hills Home Bureau, AARP, a former member of the Mohawk Valley Choral Society, and served as vice president of the St. Ann sisterhood. Mary received wonderful care from the doctors and nurses of the Little Falls Hospital. She passed away there on Sunday morning November 23, 2014. The family also extends thanks to the Mohawk Valley Healthcare Center where she had resided for the past several years. She is survived by her loving family including children: Michael Tumski and his wife Christina of Little Falls, and Jeanne Scalice and her husband Anthony of Little Falls, a sister Frances Brinski of Amsterdam, a brother John Rusin of Little Falls, grandchildren, Diana Visconti, Lisa Rovetto, Kristine Richardson, Daniel Zitoli, and Michael Scalice, 9 great - grandchildren and several nephews. She was predeceased by sisters: Stafie Andrews and Lena Jantosciak, and a brother Charles Rusin. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday November 26th, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Reflective prayer will be offered by Deacon Joseph DeLorenzo (affiliated with the Holy Family Parish).There are no calling hours.
