Obituary of Edward H. Woroby

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Mr. Edward H. Woroby, age 86, a longtime resident of Center Street in St. Johnsville, passed away early Wednesday morning December 3, 2014. Ed's sudden passing occurred at the Wells Nursing Home in Johnstown. His family was comforted by the wonderful care offered by the nursing home during his time there. He was born May 11, 1928 in Remsen, NY the son of the late Peter and Helen (Kupora) Woroby. The family moved to the Mohawk area and Ed graduated with Mohawk High School. His marriage to Mary A. Campione took place on June 6, 1954 at St. Patrick's Church in St. Johnsville. Mary passed away on September 10, 2004, after 50 loving years of marriage. Mr. Woroby served our country with the United States Army from 1955 until 1957. Until his retirement Ed was employed with Library Bureau of Herkimer. He worked as a furniture craftsman. Ed's family was his foremost priority. He proved himself to be a loving and caring husband, grandfather, brother and uncle. In his leisure time he enjoyed taking Mary to doll stores and garage sales. He was an avid baseball fan with a passion toward the New York Yankees. He just loved to visit with relatives and especially enjoyed Sunday outings. He was of the Catholic faith. His memberships included the IUE-AFL-CIO and was a Gold Star member of the VFW. Survivors include his daughter - in - law, Debbie Woroby of Salem, NY, three grandchildren, Michael Woroby, Nicholas Woroby, and Kimberly Reilly and her husband Justin, a great grandson Hunter Woroby and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife Mary, a son Edward C. Woroby on March 19, 2003, and several siblings. Funeral services will be on Saturday December 6, 2014 at 10:15 AM from The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street, St. Johnsville and at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Church, North Helmer Ave., Dolgeville, New York where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Qui Vo. Burial will follow with full military honors in St. Johnsville Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday December 5th, 2014 from 4-7 PM. All memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Harry J. & Kevin E.
