HERKIMER - Rosamond A. "Rosie" Doxtater was born on July 1, 1921 in the town of German Flatts, NY, a daughter of the late Ernest and Julia (Harwick) Primmar. She attended and graduated from Little Falls Benton Hall school. She had lived in the Fort Plain area at one time and moved to Herkimer around the year 1965. Her family has fond memories of her excellent ability to cross - stitch and crochet. She was very crafty. She took great pride in genealogy and just loved to play Bingo. Rosie had a great appreciation for her garden where she would often be found sitting and relaxing and enjoying her flowers and plants. She served on the Board of Directors of the Herkimer Housing Authority for twenty years. She participated and directed many activities with the Midtown Apartments for many years. Rosie passed away on Thursday morning December 4, 2014 in Cooperstown, NY at the age of 93. Her family is grateful for the kindness offered at Bassett Healthcare during her brief illness. She was predeceased by her son, Robert, her grandson Donny, her sister Julia Sekel, brothers Ernest and Warren, a son - in - law Richard Mason, a daughter - in - law Ellen Doxtater, and a great - grandson Jamison DeMars. She is survived by her beloved family including children, George Doxtater and his wife Ruth of Oppenheim, Joanne Mason of Willsboro, NY, Donald Doxtater of Ilion, and Helen DeMars and her husband Jake of Herkimer, her sister Gloria Watts of Ilion, brothers Charles Primmar of Ilion and Richard Primmar of Barneveld, grandchildren, Billy, Jeff, Tommy, Shawn, Trisha, Tim, Joan, Ruth, Richard, Robbie, Randy, Melissa, Robin, Jennifer, Kelly, and Jesse, many great and great - great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Rosie will be held on Tuesday December 9th, 2014 at 11:00 AM at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street in Herkimer under the direction of Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors (315) 866-1011. The service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Andrew D. Peloubet, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Ilion. Interment will follow at Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Monday evening December 8th from 4 until 7 PM.
