SCHENECTADY - LITTLE FALLS, NY - Miss Anna M. Buno, age 86, died peacefully on Christmas morning December 25th, 2014 in Schenectady, NY. She was a resident of Kingsway Arms Nursing Center. She was born on April 25, 1928 in Little Falls, NY the daughter of the late Paul and Kristina (Hradsky) Buno, who were born in Czechoslovakia. She was the valedictorian of her Little Falls High School Class of 1946, after which she attended SUNY Albany, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1950, with a BA in Spanish. She received her MLS from SUNY Albany in 1952, and was an elementary school librarian in the South Colonie School District until her retirement in 1983. Anna was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Little Falls, and active in the Slovak community in Little Falls. She was an associate member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Schenectady, where she served on the altar guild. She enjoyed attending performances at Proctor's Theater in Schenectady, bowling, golf, and taking short trips. Saratoga in August was a favorite destination. She enjoyed reading, and enthralled several generations of school children with her storytelling ability. Those who knew Ann and her mother will always remember the delicious Slovak cookies and other delicacies they baked, especially at Christmas time, to share with their many friends. Those people will also always remember her friendly manner and beautiful smile. Anna's funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY (315)823-2424 with Pastor Shawn Dugan, officiating. Calling hours will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Little Falls, NY, where she will be laid to rest.
