Obituary of Dorothy I. Bailey

ILION - Mrs. Dorothy I. Bailey, age 67, of Ilion, NY passed away suddenly on Wednesday January 7th, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, NY. She was born on December 13, 1947 in Amsterdam, NY a daughter of the late Earl and Irene (Engel) LeRoy. She attended schools in Amsterdam. Her marriage to William A. Bailey took place November 6, 1971 in Canajoharie. The couple had lived in Little Falls for over 30 years and she worked with Benton Hall School in Little Falls as an aid. Dorothy was a loving wife, wonderful mother, and a special grandmother. She served as a cub - scout den mother. She was a foster parent. She excelled at arts and crafts, particularly with paint by numbers, and loved to play Bingo. She had a love for all animals, especially dogs and cats. She leaves behind 5 dogs and 3 cats who gave her much joy. She would just love to babysit her grandchildren, which was so much appreciated. She was also known to be an avid Jimmie Johnson (NASCAR) fan. She is survived by her husband, Bill, children Leslie Bailey and his wife Jennifer and Melissia Bailey and her boyfriend Julius Brown, grandchildren, Matthew Bailey, Alexander Bailey, and Madalynn Bailey and many loving and supportive close friends and family. Her funeral arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, NY (Town of Frankfort) under the direction of Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors. (315) 894-8000. Funeral service will be Sunday January 11th, 2015 at 4:30 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Christopher Schumske of the Oak Ridge Free Methodist Church of Herkimer officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday prior to the funeral from 2 until 4:30 PM. Her family is appreciative of the Mohawk Valley Health Care Center, 2nd floor nurses and staff. Please consider donations in her memory to your local Humane Society.
