Obituary of Genevieve Ann Dunckel

ILION - Genevieve Ann Dunckel, 73, beloved wife, mother and nana, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, in Greensboro, NC. Jenny was born on October 16, 1941, one of sixteen brothers and sisters to Edward and Ruth Treen. She was a lifelong resident of Ilion before recently retiring to Greensboro. She met her life partner, Arthur Dunckel, Sr. at the age of 13 and they built their lives together for 60 years. Jenny and Arthur were married in 1960 and resided in Ilion where Jenny worked as a floor supervisor at Duofold. Jenny lived in the moment and was an extremely hard worker. She never put off until tomorrow what could be done today. She took care of her family and no matter the request, the answer was always "yes". She was a second mom to countless friends and always had treats prepared to share. She is now reunited with her parents, grandparents and many brothers, sisters, and friends who have passed away. She is survived by her beloved husband, Art - she was the love and rock of his life, her daughter Jeanine Petriski and husband Jim, her son Art Dunckel and girlfriend Kimberly Abels and son Rhett, grandson Justin Petriski and girlfriend Lauren Kittle, dog Sadie, and several nieces, nephews and friends. Her family has planned a funeral service with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road (Town of Frankfort), Ilion, NY with the assistance of Funeral Directors Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea. (315) 894-8000. The family will receive visitors from 6 - 8pm on Tuesday, January 20, at Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd, Town of Frankfort, Ilion. A small service will follow, with Rev. Robert Wollaber, officiating. Memorials may be made to: National MS Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163 or nationalmssociety.org To leave an online note of sympathy, please visit www.eneafamily.com
