Obituary of Larry W. Clanton

UTICA - ONEIDA - Mr. Larry W. Clanton, age 62, died surrounded with family love on Monday morning January 19, 2015 at Faxton - St. Luke's Healthcare, Town of New Hartford, NY after a long battle with cancer. The family is grateful to the hospital doctors, nurses and staff and the oncology department. He was born on November 3, 1952 in Oneida, NY. His dad predeceased him (Edmund Clanton), and his mom resides in Herkimer (Corine Balsley Clanton). He graduated high school in California in 1970 and then came back to his home in the Mohawk Valley. He worked for many years as a machinist with the Conmed Corporation, Utica. He was of the catholic faith. Larry, simply put, was a great guy. His family reflects back on how at special times, for instance Thanksgiving, he would offer the most delicious food that was so greatly appreciated. His hobbies were inclusive to fly fishing, hunting, gardening, and just being outdoors in general. He was a fabulous woodworker. He is survived by his mother Corine of Herkimer, a daughter Krystal Clanton and her daughter (Larry's granddaughter) Alexis Alsheimer, two brothers Mark Clanton and his wife Joan of Herkimer, and Brian Clanton of Rome, his nephew Jason Clanton and his aunt Katherine Clanton. His funeral arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street in Herkimer, NY under the direction of Funeral Directors Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea. (315) 866-1011. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon January 24th from 2 until 4 PM.
