Obituary of James F. Coffin

EAST HERKIMER - Mr. James F. Coffin, age 66, of Main Road, East Herkimer, passed away early Wednesday morning January 21, 2015 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was born on March 28, 1948 in Little Falls, a son of Nancy (Tisi) Coffin and the late Edwin P. Coffin, Sr. He was a graduate of Dolgeville Central School, "Class of 1967." Jim went on to attend classes at Mohawk Valley Community College. He had lived in the Clayville area for nearly 25 years. Jim worked as a director with Oneida County ARC for 38 years. Jim's family fondly reflects back on the days that he worked side by side with his brother Ed on Mill Street in Little Falls at Coffin Brothers Printing. They were a great team together. Jim was deeply rooted within his Christian faith. He faithfully attended the Faith & Christ Fellowship Church on Oneida Street in Chadwicks. He just loved to ride motorcycle and was a dedicated member of the CMA, Christian Motorcycle Association. In his leisure time Jim would be found playing golf, tending to yard work, and tending to his cherished k-9 companion, "Angel." He was a friend to many and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his mother Nancy Coffin of East Herkimer, his son, James Coffin and his wife Amanda of Fulton, Missouri, his brother Edwin Coffin, Jr. of Waterville, his sister, Sharon Coffin, of Lakeland, Florida, his fiancée, Diane Giarrusso of Little Falls, his grandchildren, Haylee and Jacob, several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and a sister - in - law, Christine Coffin - Snyder. He was predeceased by his father, Edwin, a sister Lorraine Tucci and two brothers Donald and Gary Coffin. His funeral arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls. Harry J. Enea, Jr. and his son Kevin are the Funeral Directors (315) 823-2424. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Friday January 23rd, 2015 from 3:30 PM until 5:30 PM. The funeral service will conclude the calling hours at 5:30 PM Friday at the funeral home chapel with Pastor John Kelly of the Faith & Christ Fellowship Church officiating. There will be a private family graveside service on Saturday morning at St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer.
