Obituary of Thomas A. Shaver

LITTLE FALLS - Mr. Thomas A. "Tom" Shaver, age 75, a longtime resident of Little Falls, passed away on Tuesday morning, February 3rd, 2015 at Little Falls Hospital. Throughout Tom's brief illness, he has been surrounded with loving support from his family and friends. He was born on June 11, 1939 in Little Falls, a son of the late Thomas V. and Rose (Lorenzoni) Shaver. He attended St. Mary's Academy and was a graduate of Little Falls High School, 'Class of 1957.' Tom was proud to be a United States Marine Corps Veteran, having served our country for three years until 1960 when he was honorably discharged. His marriage to Virginia A. "Ginny" Washburn took place February 4, 1978, a loving union of 37 years. Tom held employment with the Federal Government of the United States for many years. His employment capacity with the government afforded him the opportunity to travel a great deal. He visited places all over the world. He was a member of the Holy Family Parish in Little Falls and was a past Little Falls Elk Lodge member. He was a great fan of the Washington Redskins and enjoyed computer games and target shooting. He is survived by beloved wife Ginny, his children, sons, Thomas A. Shaver, Jr. of Little Falls and Greg W. Shaver and his wife Tascha of Waldorf, Maryland, a daughter Michele Shaver and her companion Greg of Boston, MA, his grandchildren, Rose Marie Shaver and Anthony Shaver, his In - Laws, William R. Washburn and his wife Carol, Barbara Murphy and her husband James, Lynne Venters and her companion Tony, and his uncle and aunt, William and Eileen Bennett, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, his mother in law and father in law, cousins, aunts, uncles, a nephew and In Laws Brian and Dickie Washburn. His funeral arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls, NY under the direction of Harry J. Enea, Jr. and Kevin E. Enea Funeral Directors. (315) 823-2424. There will be calling hours at the funeral home (Friday Feb. 6th) from 5 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 7th, 2015 at 8:30 AM from The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the Holy Family Parish Church, corner of East Main & John Streets, Little Falls at 9:00 AM with Rev. Terence Healy, officiating, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will take place with full military honors at St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer.
