HERKIMER - Miss Marjorie L. Briggs, age 88, passed away on Sunday February 15, 2015 at the Folts Homes in Herkimer. She was born on July 4th, 1926 in Norway, NY a daughter of the late Henry and Milly (Stanley) Briggs and was educated locally. For many years Marjorie had worked with the Cardamone family of New Hartford. She was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed the challenge of jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by her siblings, a brother Edward Briggs and his wife Martha of Herkimer, a sister, Betty Johnson and her husband Herbert of Little Falls, a sister, Ruth Miller of Mohawk, and a sister Florence Briggs of Herkimer and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers Chester and Leslie Briggs. Her funeral arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street in Herkimer, NY. Harry J. & Kevin E. Funeral services will be held 9:30 A.M., Thursday, February 19th, 2015, at the Blessed Sacrament Church, 54 East Main Street, Mohawk, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. Mark Cunningham, Sacramental Minister, assisted by Sister Mary Jo Tallman, Parish Life Director. Interment will be in Oriskany Cemetery in the spring.
