ST. JOHNSVILLE - Mrs. Judith A. (Greene) Abt, age 66, a native of St. Johnsville and beloved wife of Bernard A. Abt, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, February 17th, 2015 in ArchCare at Carmel Richmond Healthcare, Staten Island, NY. She was born on April 27, 1948 in Little Falls, NY a daughter of the late Alton and Celia (Guile) Greene. Judy was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School, 'Class of 1966.' She went on to study at Utica State Nursing School and obtained her degree as a Registered Nurse in 1969. After her schooling she moved to Staten Island. Her marriage to Bernard A. "Bernie" Abt took place August 25, 1984 in St. John's Reformed Church in St. Johnsville. The couple shared in over 30 years of happily married years together. Judy was last employed in the administration department of the Staten Island Developmental Institution. Judy just loved to play BINGO and was always happy when enjoying the entertainment that Atlantic City, New Jersey had to offer. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her beloved husband Bernie, her niece, Laurie (Sharpe) Lyga and her husband John of Indian Trail, North Carolina, and their children (Judy's great niece and nephew) Steven and Allyson, nephews, Robert Sharpe of Albany, Bryan Green and his wife Jana and their children (Judy's great niece and nephew) Collin and Hannah of Ilion, Keith Fical and Wendy and their children (Judy's great niece and nephew) Kali & Kolby of Ilion, and a niece Kim Fical and Taun of Utica, along with her sister - in - law, Edna Green of Dolgeville. Also surviving are Judy's neighbors, Debbie and Jim Gaynor, who were always there for Judy and Bernie and the family is so very grateful. She was predeceased by her parents Alton & Celia, a sister, Jacqueline Sharpe and her husband Russell, and her brother Richard Green, and her mother - in - law, Abigail Abt. Her graveside funeral service will be held in the spring of 2015 in St. Johnsville Cemetery where a service will be offered with the Reverend David A. Johnson officiating. Friends and relatives will have ample notification prior to the service times that will be set. There are no calling hours at this time.
