Obituary of Ann Marie Battisti

Ann Marie Battisti, formerly Anna Marie Quattrocchi, passed away on January 5, 2015 at the age of 89. Ann was one of nine siblings born to Maria and Archimedes Quattrocchi of the "Herk's" Tavern and restaurant family in Amsterdam, New York. Ann graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam and then enrolled in business school in the capital district area of New York. She worked for Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Company in Amsterdam until meeting her husband, Paul Battisti, at a dance at Sherman's Amusement Park in Caroga Lake. Ann and Paul lived in St. Johnsville, NY where they enjoyed life on the Hometown Dairy farm and raised their family in a well-rounded, farm-to-table fashion. Ann was a talented and sought after seamstress in the Mohawk Valley area, creating beautiful clothing for her daughters, herself and many others. Over the years she designed and made one-of-a-kind apparel for dance recital costumes and wedding gowns. For more than twenty years, Ann and Paul were "snowbirds," traveling to south Florida to spend winters near their three children. Ann enjoyed concerts, dancing, the beach and various activities with friends she and her husband made over the years. Their marriage saw sixty-three enjoyable years. For the last two years Ann and Paul resided full time in Boca Raton, Florida. Ann is survived by husband Paul, daughters Paula Battisti McClure and Rosanne Battisti Vezzi, son Robert Battisti, sisters Ceil Dantini Iannuzzi and Vera Baranello, sister-in-law Nancy Leo, and several nieces and nephews. Celebrations of Ann's life will be held at their senior residence in Boca Raton and in the spring near their hometown, St. Johnsville Cemetery, St. Johnsville, NY. Memorial donations can be made to the American Lung Association or Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, Florida.
