Obituary of Josephine M Manno

ILION - Josephine M. Manno, age 86, formerly of N. Fifth Ave., Ilion, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. She had been a recent resident of the Folts Home, Herkimer. She was born on March 28, 1928, in Rome, NY, the daughter of Nick and Santa (Calamonci) Lomando, and graduated from Rome Free Academy. Josephine married Salvatore J. Manno on November 6, 1948, at St. John The Baptist Church, Rome. He died on December 24, 1983. She was employed as a teacher's aide at the Ilion School District for many years. Josephine was a member of the Church of the Annunciation, Ilion. She enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and family. Surviving family members include her daughter, Karen Bruneau and her husband, Rick, of Savannah, GA; her son, Dave Manno and his wife, Kathleen, of Ilion; two grandchildren, Jacqueline Waite and her wife, Rebecca Roose, and Jeffrey Waite and his wife, Aaron, of Canandaigua, NY; two great-grandchildren, Abigail and Jeffrey Waite; two sisters, Jenny Bessette, of Rome, and Sadie Wrinkle, of Lee, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Josephine's Memorial Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Church of the Annunciation, West St., Ilion, with Father Paul Catena, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion, next to her husband, Salvatore.
