Obituary of Ronald S. O'Dell
MOHAWK - Ronald "Ron" S. O'Dell, Sr., age 72, of Ferncliff Rd., Mohawk, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at home.
Ron was born on June 9, 1942, in Ilion, the son of Ralph and Delia (Bruso) O'Dell. He graduated from Annunciation School and attended Ilion High School. On January 20, 1962, he was married to Marsha Caulkins at the Church of the Annunciation, in Ilion. Ron was employed as a machine setter and polisher at Remington Arms Co. for thirty-four years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the Church of the Annunciation. Ron enjoyed camping and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Marsha; two daughters, Barbara Peuser and her husband, Chris, of Mohawk, and Connie Wren and her husband, Daniel, of Herkimer; one son, Ron O'Dell, Jr., of Mohawk; nine grandchildren, Stephanie Mosher and her husband, Bryan, Shawn Peuser and his wife, Alisha, Aaron Peuser and his fiancée, Morgan, Brianna, Jessica and Nicole Wren, Krystina and Amber O'Dell, and Phoenix Phillips; five great-grandchildren, Dezarae, Cameran, Delaney, Mason and Paislyn; two sisters, Betty Firman and Nancy Brown and her husband, Doyle; one brother, Norm O'Dell and his wife, Lori, of Rochester; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Eva and Mary; and four brothers, David, Frank, Arthur and William "Bud" O'Dell.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2015, at the Church of the Annunciation, West St., Ilion, where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Paul Catena, Pastor. Spring interment will be at Mohawk Cemetery Annex, Vickerman Hill Rd., Mohawk.
Calling hours are Monday, March 2, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home's newly reopened home at 102 West St., Ilion.
