Obituary of Dominick A. Moschetto

ILION - Mr. Dominick A. Moschetto, a World War II Veteran, and former resident of Ilion, NY, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 4, 2015 in Little Falls, NY (Alpine Rehabilitation & Nursing Center). He was born on February 14, 1928 in Herkimer, NY, a son of the late Michael and Carmella (Fiorentino) Moschetto. He was educated in Herkimer schools. He enlisted with the United States Navy on January 15, 1946 and upon his honorable discharge on November 12, 1947 he held the rank of Seaman Second Class. He was united in marriage on August 19, 1950 to the former Shirley A. Lawrence at St. Mary's Church in Little Falls. As a couple, they shared the traditional values of life, loved each other unconditionally, and spent 23 years living in Florida. Shirley passed away on February 7, 2010. Dominick worked as an Inspector with the Aerospace Division of General Electric in Utica for 35 years. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the National American Legion. He loved to play golf in his free time. Dominick is survived by his children, Richard Moschetto and his wife Ann of Ilion and Deborah Schoonmaker of Nantucket (Massachusetts), his sisters, Leigh Knapp and her husband Zeke of Newport and Rose Pabes of Herkimer, his cherished grandchildren, Richard Moschetto and his wife Melissa, Krista Schoonmaker and Jason Schoonmaker, his loving feline friend, Trinket, and many nieces nephews, cousins and In-Laws including Virginia Koski, Carol Jones, Mary Moschetto, Bea Lawrence, and Esther Lawrence. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bill, Frank, and Pat Moschetto. His funeral arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road (Town of Frankfort), Ilion, NY. Funeral Directors Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea, (315) 894-8000. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday March 6, 2015 from 2 until 4 PM. Funeral services will immediately follow calling hours at 4:00 PM with Deacon James Bower officiating.
