Obituary of Staff Sergeant Michael A. Gushue

MOHAWK - Staff Sergeant Michael A. Gushue, Jr., age 36, of Anchorage, Alaska, stationed at Elmdorf United States Air Force Base, 176th Maintenance Group, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 6, 2015, in Alaska. He was born on October 20, 1978, in Herkimer, NY, a son of Michael Gushue, Sr., and Brenda Guyer-Hurteau. He was a graduate of Mohawk High School. Mike served two tours in Afghanistan and fixed airplanes as a crew chief and mechanic. He graduated from Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, and attended Herkimer County Community College as well. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Dolores Reel, Clarence Guyer, Sr., Cyril Gushue, (US) Veteran, and Rose Gushue; and his uncle, Clarence Guyer, Jr., and wife, Sheila. His mother, Brenda and husband, James Hurteau, survive, as well as his father, Michael Gushue, Sr., and wife, Patricia; his children whom he loved with all his heart, Jaden Gushue, Scott Gushue and Kaydence Fuller; his brother, Matthew Gushue and partner, Jolynn Connolly; his brother, Daniel Gushue; his stepsisters, Ashley Hurteau and Melissa Wameling; grandfather, Walt Reel; his aunt, Linda; his uncle, Marty; his aunt, Sandy; his uncle, Raymond Guyer; his uncles, Vince Gushue, Anthony Gushue, Howard Gushue, Gene Gushue, Bill Gushue and Jim Gushue; his aunt, Bonnie Desjardins; and friends who are considered family, Scott Close, Oscar and Sarah Day, Albert Murray, Jason March, Matt Reel and many more too numerous to be named. His full military funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road (town of Frankfort), Ilion, NY, under the directors Harry J. and Kevin E.
