Obituary of Brian J Rex

ILION - Brian J. Rex, age 54, of London Towers, Ilion, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford, with his family by his side. He was born on March 13, 1960, in Ilion, the son of Lyman and Carol (Smith) Rex, and attended Ilion schools. He was a veteran, serving in the US Army. At one time, he was married to Susan Gage. He later married Tammy Sanders. Most recently, he was married to Marie Streator. At one time, Brian was employed at Spohn's Disposal. Later, he was employed by the Village of Ilion Dept. of Public Works for ten years. Brian was a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Surviving family members include his wife, Marie; his mother, Carol Rex, of Ilion; his children, Cecilia Baumgartner and her husband, Lance, of Inlet, Michael Rex and his wife, Carrie, of Ilion, Timothy Rex, of Ilion, Cassandra Allen and her fiance, Tony Possemato, of St. Johnsville, and Eli Rex, of Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Gabrielle, Joshua, Samantha, Liam, Noelle, Zackary, Sophie and Mallory; two stepsons, Colon and Orrin Streator; his brother, David L. Rex and his partner, David Bunal, of Oriskany; his sisters, Sherry Krick, of Ilion, and Kathy Marlowe and her husband, Kim, of Ilion; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special friend, Deborah Dawn Sobolowski. He was predeceased by his father, Lyman Rex; his sister, Patricia (Rex) Charles; his granddaughter, Chyanne Allen; and his nephew, Robert Charles. Brian's Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015, at the Herkimer First United Methodist Church, 127 N. Prospect St., Herkimer, NY, with Rev. Janet Gleason, Pastor, officiating. Spring interment will be in Oak View Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation on Saturday, March 14, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the Memorial Service.
