Obituary of Charlotte Reynolds

Ilion: Charlotte I. Reynolds, 79, a long time Ilion resident, entered into eternal life on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Ilion on February 2, 1936, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Doris B. (Watson) Gage. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of Herkimer High School. Charlotte at one time worked at the Remington Credit Union in Ilion and was last employed as a cafeteria assistant for the Ilion School District. For Charlotte, family came first, loving and cherishing her children and grandchildren unconditionally. She spent many hours attending functions and activities in which her children and grandchildren were involved. The mantel of her fireplace, filled with family pictures of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, brought her much happiness. In her earlier years, she enjoyed being a part of golf and bowling leagues, and throughout all of her years, enjoyed spending time at Raquette Lake. Charlotte was an active member of The First United Methodist Church of Herkimer-Little Falls and is survived by her children, Robert (Michael) Reynolds and wife Andrea Ando-Albert of Manchester, Maine; Joanne Reynolds Bladek and husband Karl of Mohawk; Karen Totaro-Reynolds and wife Tammy of Ilion; and Diane Reynolds of Utica; her cherished grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Jeremiah Reynolds; Lindsey Dumais and husband Tony; Lelyned Bowley and his fiancee Amanda Sawyer; Joki Wallace; Brianna Forbes Silverstein, Esq. and husband Adam; Katie Marlowe and husband Jesse; Sgt. Gary Rende and wife Lindsey; Samantha Rende and Kristofer; her beloved great-grandchildren, Ian, Aubrey, Evan, Ethan, Parker, Vincent and Raiden; a brother, Ronald Gage of Florida; and a sister, Shirley Tripple, of Schuyler. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her beloved feline companion, Butterscotch. The family would like to acknowledge the Ilion Fire Dept. Ambulance personnel and the staff of Faxton-St. Luke's CCU and 2nd floor for the care and compassion shown to Charlotte - They were simply wonderful and their compassion will never be forgotten. Anyone wishing to make memorial contributions in Charlotte's memory may choose to make a donation to either The Herkimer County Humane Society, or The First United Methodist Church Sunday School Program (please make any Sunday School donations payable in c/o Kathy Marlowe); envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Her funeral arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, NY (Town of Frankfort) under the direction of Funeral Directors Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea (315) 894-8000. Family and friends may pay their respects at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 3-6 PM.
