Obituary of George Bundick

Little Falls: George Bundick, 89, a lifelong Little Falls resident passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Alpine Nursing & Rehabilitation Center , Little Falls with the love and support of his family by his side. Born in Van Hornesville on March 21, 1925, George was the son of the late Michael and Katherine (Kawczak) Bundyk. Raised and educated locally, he attended Little Falls Schools. On August 14, 1948 he was united in marriage to the former M. Arlene Stahl at St. Mary's Church in Little Falls with whom he shared his life, his love, and many cherished memories during their 66 years of marriage. During his working life, George held the position as a mechanic for Slabes Sales & Service for many years from which he retired and also worked for his father-in-law at one time for DeKater & Stahl Chevrolet Olds Dealership in Dolgeville. George was a man of great strength of character and an honorable, dependable provider for his family. He held close to his heart the love he had for his wife, daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A portrait of George would portray him with a smile and a snicker, a supportive and fun-loving person who always put people at ease by making them laugh and providing unconventional wit and unconditional love with his keen sense of humor. An outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. George was a member of the Morehouse Lake Club, the Oppenheim Sprite Club, was a former member of the Holy Family Men's Club and a former member of the East Herkimer Fish & Game Club. He enjoyed assisting Frank Lawrence at Holy Family functions and was a member of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. He is survived by his beloved wife, Arlene; his daughters and their spouses, JoAnne (Jody) and John Bubb of Mohawk, Colleen and Steve Salamone and Shelley and Tom Cotton all of Little Falls ; his cherished grandchildren, Steve Coonradt and wife Mary, Lisa Peters and husband Dennis, D.J. Shepardson and wife Gina, Bryan Shepardson and wife Sarah, Stephanie Metott and husband Mark, Rich Salamone and fiancé Sara Anderson and Katie Cotton; 10 great grandchildren; in-laws, Beverly Murphy Casadonte and Jeannette Bundyk; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by an infant son, John Edward Bundick; brothers, Nick and Joseph Bundyk and sisters, Mary Sheahan, Julia Green and Ann Spurza. His funeral arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street in Little Falls, NY under the direction of Harry J. Enea, Jr. and Kevin E. Enea Funeral Directors. (315) 823-2424.
