Obituary of Charles C Riley

LITTLE FALLS - Mr. Charles L. "Chink" Riley, a longtime resident of Little Falls, NY, died on Wednesday March 25, 2015 at the Alpine Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. He was born on February 9, 1926 in Little Falls, NY a son of the late Clarence and Mary (Burns) Riley and was educated in local schools. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy and went on to attend the Utica School of Commerce. He served with the United States Army toward the end of World War II, namely in the European Theatre of Operations for eleven months. His marriage to Theodus "Teddy" Carrig took place on November 5, 1949 at St. Mary's Church in Little Falls, a loving union of over 65 years. The couple had lived for over 30 years in Florida, where Charlie worked in the warehouse of Southern Wine & Spirits, Miami, Florida. At one time while living in Little Falls he had worked with the Cherry Burrell Corporation as well as Little Falls Automotive Fibres. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Little Falls American Legion Post #31. His family is very grateful to the staff of the Alpine in Little Falls during his stay there, especially mentioning nurses Amy, Michele, Maggie, Ginger, Loretta, Debbie, Eric, and Courtney. He is survived by his beloved wife, Teddy, his daughter Donna Zelinski and her husband Robert of Ocala, Florida, his grandchildren Kit and Korin Zelinski, several nieces, nephews, cousins and In - Laws, Tom and Theresa Carrig and David Carrig. He was predeceased by his son, David Riley, and sisters, Jean Mocko and Eleanor Novak. His funeral arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls, NY. A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring of 2015 at Church Street Cemetery in Little Falls at which time family and friends will be notified.
