Herkimer: Patricia M. Smith, 87, a lifelong Herkimer resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. Born in Herkimer Patricia was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Minnie (Schulenburg) Schrader. She was a graduate of Herkimer High School. On November 1, 1947 she was united in marriage to Norman Smith and shared a union of 45 years until Mr. Smith's passing on April 22, 1993. Patricia retired from Mohawk Data Science Corp. Patricia was a woman of deep faith whose greatest joy was caring for her family, most recently for her great-grandchildren Emma Rose and Brielle, to whom she was lovingly known as "Grandma Tootie." She is survived by a son, Norman S. Smith of Montgomery, AL; her daughters Bonnie McLean of Ilion and Kandy and Thomas Betti of Frankfort; her beloved grandchildren, James, Rorie, May-Lee and Brittny; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. She also leaves her siblings and their spouses, Ivan Schrader of Herkimer, Allen and Karen Schrader of Little Falls, Harold and Mary Schrader of Chehalis, WA, Janice and Jack Butler, Newport, Joyce and Tony Casale of Mohawk and Armeda and Roger LaBreche of Herkimer; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Rudy and Richard Schrader; a sister, Beverly Weber and a grandson, Thomas J. Betti. Her Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, NY (Town of Frankfort) 315-894-8000 under the care and guidance of Harry J. And Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors. There will be no calling hours. Her funeral service will take place on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, corner of German/Henry Sts., Herkimer, NY with the Reverend Ann Zimmerman, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer.
