Obituary of Marjorie May Bachorik

ILION: Marjorie May Bachorik, 89, a longtime Ilion resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford with the love and support of her family by her side. Born in Oneonta on May 3, 1925, Marjorie was the daughter of the late Leslie and Elda (Pitshe) Shute. Raised and educated locally, she attended Ilion Schools. On June 1, 1946 she married Paul Bachorik, Jr. with whom she shared a blessed union of 68 years until his passing on June 7, 2014. Marjorie worked for many years at Mohawk Data Science Corporation, Herkimer. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. In her leisure time she loved crocheting and was an avid sewer. She is survived by her children; a son, Paul Mark Bachorik of Ilion; her daughters, Sharon Ruszala and husband Robert of Herkimer, Susan Bachorik and son Kevin of Syracuse and Shirley Cudhea and husband Tony of Ilion; her grandson, Staff Sergeant Jordy Cudhea and wife Nicole of Fort Drum; her cherished great grandchildren, Jordyn, Madison, Anthony, Charlee and Karsyn; her brother-in-law, Stephen Bachorik of Mohawk and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Elmer Shute. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 100 Lomond Court, Utica, NY 13502 in Marjorie's memory; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home (F.K.A. Holleran Funeral Service) 220 N. WASHINGTON STREET, Herkimer, NY (315)866-1011. Marjorie's funeral service will immediately follow calling hours at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place at North Columbia Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Paul. The family is being cared for by Harry J. and Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors.
