Obituary of Peter Steciak

Mr. Peter Steciak 80 of 812 Springdale Avenue, Herkimer died unexpectedly Monday April 27, 2015 at Faxton-St. Lukes Hospital, after suffering an apparent heart attack at his residence. Peter was born in Little Falls, on June 17, 1934 the son of the late Stephen and Mary (Pytel) Steciak Sr. and was a graduate of Dolgeville High School, class of 1952. He continued his education by attending Mohawk valley community College receiving his Insurance, Real-estate and Brokers license. His marriage to Barbara Robertson took place on February 14th, 1966; they recently celebrated 49 years of marriage. Peter began his public service by operating the former Halfway House with his brothers in the town of Manheim, then moved onto selling insurance, stocks and bonds. In addition he held positions with the former Daniel Green Company of Dolgeville and Redco Foods of Little Falls where he retired from as the Eastern District Supervisor of Sales, several years ago. Upon his retirement he and his wife moved to Beaufort, South Carolina and operated a Bed & Breakfast, before moving back to the area. Peter and Barbara have lived in Little Falls, Dolgeville, Saratoga, Beaufort, SC, Salisbury Center and now Herkimer. His affiliations include the Dolgeville Masonic Lodge, Salisbury Center Grange, the Frisby House, the Little Falls BPOE #42, the Civic Club and he was Vice-president of the Republican Club of Herkimer. He is survived by his wife Barbara, a Brother and his wife John and Chris Steciak of Salisbury Center, his sisters Beverly Darling and her partner Arlene Hanson of Rome, NY and Helen Schumacher of Reno, NV. several Nieces & Nephews. He was predeceased by his three daughters that died tragically on January 22, 1984, Kimber Lee Steciak, Kelly Erin Steciak-Duga and Kari Lynn Steciak, his brothers-William, Michael, Joseph, and Stephen Jr., his sister Anna Hudack. Entombment services will take place at the family Mausoleum in the Dolgeville Cemetery at the conveniences of the family. There are No calling hours.
