Obituary of Charles George Weiss

RICHFIELD SPRINGS: Charles ("Charlie", "Chuck") George Weiss, RN, age 32, of Richfield Springs, suddenly left many broken hearts behind on April 28, 2015. He was born on December 26, 1982, the first son of George Wesley Weiss and the late Mary Louise Kohler Weiss. Mary refused to have a "Christmas Baby" and waited until the next day to have him. He was instantly welcomed into this world by his doting big sister, Elyse, who proclaimed him "her baby!" and who never stopped looking out for him. Mary and George were then blessed with two more sons, Robert and Michael, who grew up the best of friends with their big brother. Charlie graduated from Richfield Springs Central School in 2000. After several years of experimenting with different college and career options, he found his calling as a registered nurse and graduated from Saint Elizabeth's School of Nursing in 2010. He began his nursing career in the Emergency Room at Saint Elizabeth's Hospital, and later as a traveling nurse at Oswego and SUNY Upstate Hospitals. His most recent achievement was earning his Bachelor's Degree of Nursing from SUNY IT in December 2014. Wherever he went, and whatever he did, Charlie/Charles/Chuck easily made life-long friends who cherished him. His big heart and matching big smile brightened any room he ever entered. He spent every moment he could enjoying life to its fullest. He enjoyed hiking, camping, bicycling, reading, traveling, going to concerts, and spending time with family and friends. He lived a full life, full of love, and he inspired anyone near him to be a better person. He leaves behind his father, George Weiss of Richfield Springs; sister and brother-in-law Elyse and Matthew Kane of Ilion; brother and sister-in-law Robert and Andrea Weiss of Massachusetts; brother and sister-in-law Michael and Meaghan Weiss of Richfield Springs; three adoring nieces and one nephew, Katelyn and Abigail Kane, and Isabelle and Adam Weiss; his grandmother, Bernice Folts Weiss of Richfield Springs; along with Amanda and Lucas Tanoury, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many dear friends. We take comfort knowing that he is again in the loving arms of his mother, whom he loved and missed deeply since her passing three years ago. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandfathers Peter F. Weiss, Jr., and Alexander Kohler, grandmother Marie Seibert Kohler, and uncle Rick Kohler. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Bob Burge on Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion, NY (Town of Frankfort) 315-894-8000. Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 12:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, May 3, 2015 and before the funeral services from 9:00-11:00 AM on Monday morning. Procession will then follow to Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs where he will be laid to rest. The family is being cared for and guided by Harry J. and Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors.
