Obituary of Everett Rockwell

STRATFORD - Mr. Everett James Rockwell, age 66, of 599 Piseco Road, Stratford, NY 'fell asleep in death' on Saturday evening May 2nd, 2015 at his residence, with his loving family at his side. He was born in Little Falls, NY on August 4, 1948 the son of Everett B. and Edna C. (McGowan) Rockwell and was a graduate of Stratford School. His marriage to the former Debra A. McGowan took place on September 20, 1986 in the Methodist Church in St. Johnsville, NY. Their love for each other was evident by the almost 29 years of marriage they shared. Everett was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Dolgeville and personally enjoyed the outdoors, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Everett was a 20 year employee of the North Hudson Woodcraft Company of Dolgeville as a Kiln operator. He retired 2011. A Veteran of the Vietnam War he served honorably in the United States Army with Co. A 1st Bn30th Infantry and was discharged with the rank of Sgt. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and was an expert with the M-14 rifle. He is survived by his wife Debra, a son Aaron Rockwell of Salisbury, his daughters, Kimberly and her husband Tony D'Arcangelis of Oneida, Jill Viscusie and her companion Pete Summa of Rome, Amanda and her husband J.R. Sevier of Maryland, Kayla Rockwell and her companion Matthew of Ilion, his grandchildren Shae, Ty, Syerra, Hailey, Isaiah, Chloe, Hannah and Lilli, his brother Brian and his wife Pat Rockwell of Stratford, his sisters Dawn and her husband Earl Youker of Stratford, Norma and her husband Charles Turner of Oklahoma, Shirley and her husband Donald Vedder of Stratford, his in laws Ed McGowan, Pete and Miya McGowan, Mark and Jennifer McGowan, Kelly and Stacey Sponable. He was predeceased by his father Everett and his mother, Edna, as well as his brother, Bruce. Friends and family may call on Wednesday from 4-6 PM, at the Kingdom Hall on Brockett Road Dolgeville and attend the service at 6PM. Lee Millington will be giving the memorial talk. Memorials in his name may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Dolgeville. Envelopes will be available at the service.
