HERKIMER: Emilio Barreto Vasquez, 79, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. Born on September 11, 1935 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, Emilio was the son of the late Pablo and Paula (Barreto) Vasquez. At one time he was employed as a machinist for Manhattan Fabric in New York City. Emilio was always known to be well dressed in his 3 piece suits, taking pride in his appearance. In his leisure time he loved to cook, play dominos and cards with friends and family, dance and sing. He is survived by his beloved children, his sons, Emilio (Moe) Barreto, Jr. and wife Beatriz of Herkimer, Roland Barreto and wife Janey of Auburn, Victor Rosario and wife Julie of Jacksonville, FL, Alberto Rosario and wife Diana of Virginia; his daughters, Luz Barreto Ramey and husband Richard of Long Island, Pauline DeJesus and husband Orlando of Auburn, Lourdes Fumarola and husband Vincent of Frankfort; his sisters, Carmen Barreto of Puerto Rico and Marta Barreto of Brooklyn and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
