Obituary of Mark S. Ackley

ILION - Mr. Mark S. Ackley, age 50, of Ilion, NY passed away suddenly on Wednesday May 27, 2015. He was born on October 29, 1964 in Utica, NY and attended local schools, particularly Mount Markham and West Canada Valley from where he graduated in 1983.He served our country with the United States Army 10th Mountain Division from 1983 until 1987 as a Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic. His marriage to Christa M. Fulmer took place in 1984 followed by another ceremony in 2001. Mark was currently employed with Metal Solutions, Inc. as a machine operator in Utica. Mark was an avid Harley Davidson's enthusiast. He enjoyed home brewing craft beer, cooking a down home smoked BBQ, and smoking a good cigar around the campfire with family and very special friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Christa, his mother Ruth Ackley Hanrahan, his children Marissa Ackley and Jeremiah Ackley and his "little pumpkin" Anaja Holmes, his sisters, Jennifer Babcock and Colleen Grube, His mother -in-law, June Fulmer and his sister-in-law, Trisha Fulmer, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; cousins and a great-nephew all of whom were very special to him. He was predeceased by his sister, Robin Ackley Leskovar and his father-in-law Robert Fulmer who was like a dad to him. His funeral arrangements have been entrusted to The Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, (Town of Frankfort), Ilion, NY. Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors (315) 894-8000. Funeral services with full military honors will be held on Tuesday June 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor David Hayner of the New Life Church of Herkimer officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at The Enea Family Funeral Home prior to the funeral service on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
