Obituary of Raymond L. Kamerer

FRANKFORT-DOLGEVILLE - Raymond "Ray" L. Kamerer, age 94, formerly of Acme Rd. (Main St.), Frankfort, and Dolgeville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Mohawk Valley Health Care Center, Ilion. He was born on January 28, 1921, in Salisbury, NY, the son of Floyd and Mary (Ives) Kamerer, and attended Ilion schools. Ray was a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Navy. In 1953, he was married to Frances Eaker. For twenty-six years, Mr. Kamerer was employed at Sperry Rand UNIVAC in Ilion and Utica. He later worked at Mohawk Data Sciences, Herkimer, for nine years, retiring in 1983. Ray was a member of the Mohawk American Legion and the Herkimer VFW. Surviving family members include his two daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and William Moucha, of Bergen, NY, and Pamela and Rick Maida, of Rome, NY; his son, Gregory Kamerer and his husband, David Russo, of Long Beach, CA; four grandchildren, Janelle and Ashley Moucha, Courtney Maida, and Kimberly (Maida) Mosher; his close companion for many years, Jennie Siver; and his faithful canine friend, Tessie. In keeping with Ray's wishes, private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Stratford Cemetery. There are no scheduled calling hours.
